An Offering

In the future, machine dominates man.

Malibu Creek

For our final in digital landscape painting class, we went out to Malibu Creek to walk, talk, and most importantly, paint. It was a relaxing albeit chilly day. It started to rain a little, so I had to throw on a trash bag over my laptop to protect it. The trees reminded me of Miyazaki's extra floofy forests.

This is what I was able to capture plein air, but maybe I'll fix this up later. (ha) But for now, enjoy!

Long-haired Japanese ghost edition.

15-20 minute poses, digital painting on Photoshop.
I'm trying to work out the expressiveness using what Photoshop brushes are available to me. It's harder to get the feel and sensibility when I don't have a real brush to manipulate in millions of ways. Sure I may have all sorts of layer modes, shape dynamics, dual brushes, jitters... but nothing beats a real paintbrush for sure.

Shadow of the Colossus final artwork

An edited version of the final boss Colossus, another keyframe for the final battle, and an aftermath scene.

Thanks for stopping by. Much more to come..!
